Lithion Recycling Appoints New CTO

MONTREAL, QC, March 25, 2020 – Christian Normand joins Lithion Recycling as the new VP and CTO. He thereby joins Lithion’s standing management team composed of our President and CEO, Benoit Couture, our VP and CFO, Marc Chabot, our VP Operations and Corporate Development, Denis Geoffroy and our Project Director, Emilie Nadeau.

Christian is a chemical engineer with more than 25 years of experience in the development of processes for the synthesis, transformation and purification of materials. Prior to joining Lithion, Christian was Director of R&D and Process Development for Tekna Plasma Systems for 8 years. He founded and managed Recentis Advanced Materials Canada inc for 7 years until its acquisition by the Swiss company Oerlikon Metco where he served as Manager of the New Process Technologies R&D team for the past 3 years.

Over the years, he has successfully led the development and scale-up of several technologies from the laboratory level to the industrial level; many of these innovations have resulted in patents. His coming to Lithion Recycling will undoubtedly favor the industrial advancement of our technology.

Fun fact: Christian relies on teamwork and promotes great openness in the selection of talents to ensure optimal and rapid development of technologies. This mentality led him to form teams where there were as many languages spoken as there were members in the team!

We welcome him and wish him success in his new role!
